Greenhouse has been running for nearly a year, aiming to provide a healthy context to nurture mission. As we have met together, we've been thinking about where God is at work, what he is stirring in us, and what the next steps might be to see ideas become reality, and God shaped longings becoming new life.
In many ways, it looks like a monthly small group, but with two distinctive dynamics. Firstly, we know we are meeting together to pray and plan how to connect with and encourage those outside the church to engage with Jesus. Secondly, we're really intentional about making plans - turning our conversation into action, and then holding one another accountable to what we've planned.
One of the delights about each Greenhouse meeting is the range of different missional passions present. These have included a heart for Warm Welcome and the Kitchen Garden Community, a desire to grow the reach of Midweek Communion, connection with and prayer for neighbours. As we open scripture and listen to God and one another, He often leads us into a next step, which could be as simple as praying for someone each time we walk past their house.
Before Christmas, our attention was drawn to the wide community that use the building throughout the week, including Karate, Games Community, Indoor Curling, Art and Crafts, Baby Basics, Kitchen Garden Community, Food Bank, Ukulele and LFIS. As a small expression of the love of God, we created gifts to give to each group. We were particularly delighted to give Meeples in the shape of St Paul's (counters used for board games) to the members of the games community.

We will be meeting at 7.45pm on Tuesdays:-
6th May
3rd June
8th July
Anyone is welcome to join us as we continue to pursue God and work out how we can be good news to those around us. Send me an email dave.monck@stpaulsirelandwood.org if you're interested.
